Chapter 6: Put a brick on them.
Larisa woke up screaming her head off, much to the chagrin of her still sleeping mother and brother.
Luke was already up, cleaning the shower. Today was a big day
Luke soon had Larisa settled down and playing with her blocks.
Luke and Tara spent the rest of the morning working.
Then it was more cleaning. Tara took the toddler potty.
Luke cleaned the regular one.
He then checked the sink in the kitchen. He was not going to let it ruin the day!
Nikolas was becoming a teenager. He made his parents feel old.
Nikolas was still the spitting image of his mother, even with his glasses.
Nikolas asked his mother about teenage girl as they ate their cake.
Once they were finished, Nikolas called up a friend of his who had also recently become a teenager.
Her name was Haley. Tara and Luke retreated to their room to give Nikolas some privacy. Larisa was already in bed.
They just chatted, though Nikolas had a massive crush on Haley. He was too shy to say anything. Tara wasn't worried. They both had plenty of time to figure out what (and who) they wanted in life.
Not long after Nikolas started high school it was time for Larisa to become a child.
Larisa grew into a child who did not care about her hair or clothes. She wanted to invent things.
Larisa's first transformation took place right after her birthday. The excitement of the day had her all hyped up, so when something made her jump it triggered her transformation.
While Larisa was not bothered by messy hair, she was bothered by this sudden change in appearance. She tried to ignore it and go play in the sprinklers.
Tara soon caught up with her daughter and explained their nature, transforming into a werewolf herself.
After Tara's explanation Larisa felt a bit better and was soon herself again.
She immediately began to tinker with the workbench she'd gotten as a birthday present.
The floorplan was reworked for what felt like the millionth time. Both of the children had privacy, bu they still had to share.
Tara received a certificate in the mail, praising her as a prolific gardener. Tara hung it above the desk. Luke often teased his wife, calling her Mother Nature.
Nikolas was often stressed after a long day at school. He burnt off steam by messing around on the computer.
He then worked on his homework. Larisa often had a snack or a late lunch, as she had not yet started school.
In fact it seemed as if Larisa lived off of leftover birthday cake.
One night Tara heard her daughter telling her teddy that she wished her mom and dad wouldn't work all the time. Tara decided to talk to Luke about the issue as soon as possible.
When Larisa started school, she was less lonely. She had homework to do and was able to bond with her brother.
The kids weren't the only ones getting older. Tara and Luke both had a few wrinkles. Tara changed her style so it was more fitting for an active mother of two.
Over a midnight snack of cake, Tara and Luke discussed relaxing and making more time for the family.
Tara started the next morning by making waffles for breakfast.
She got her gardening done early.
She hunted while the kids were at school so she could make dinner and help with homework, though Larisa certainly didn't need it and she wasn't sure if she would be any help to Nikolas.
Tara kept some of the things she found on a shelf along with Larisa's very first invention.
The Lupin children were able to co-exist peacefully.
The computer was an entirely different story.
Nikolas was beginning to do more than just co exist with Haley. He invited her over one night after school. They'd been best friends for a long time. Nikolas had finally worked up the courage to tell Haley how he felt about her.
He was incredibly nervous and looked at his feet the whole time.
Haley couldn't stop smiling. She told Nikolas that she was beginning to think he was ever going to make a move. Nikolas go his first kiss. After Haley went home Nikolas told his parents, who congratulated him heartily. Tara had to take a moment for herself though. She couldn't believe how fast her babies were growing. She wished she could put a brick on their heads so they would stay the same forever.
